Our pretty little black chicken had been sick for a month with Swollen Head Syndrome. We quarantined her on and off for three weeks administering two different antibiotics, soaked her swollen face/eye with epson salt compresses daily with little improvement. Finally we got the diagnosis of the Swollen Head Syndrome from a vet and was put on a different medication that finally did the trick.
